A large Russian energy provider decided that it was necessary to automate vehicle control systems. It was required to conduct a comprehensive survey, develop an automation concept by making a model as is and as to be.

Project goal

The main objectives of automating vehicle control processes in the company are:

Efficiency increase of transport process management, reduction of time for decision-making, due to increase of speed and reliability of accounting information
Optimization of financial and time expenditures to ensure vehicle functioning

he main complexity of the project was the wide distribution of research objects and all of them using their own tools. There are many branch offices with their own specifics. Some of them had time to develop and implement their own transport management solutions, somewhere all the accounting was done in Excel.

We conducted numerous interviews, drove around the branches and met with all the parties involved.

ВAs a result we analyzed transport management processes in different branches and at different levels. The outcome of the analysis was the development of an agreed-upon as-is model.

Having identified the needs of all parties, we set about developing the as to be model. We sought not only to minimize labor costs in the processes of transport operation, but also to optimize the time required for decision-making by increasing the speed and reliability of obtaining accounting information.

The result of the work was an agreed concept for the automation of vehicle operation support management processes. Subsequently, it will become the basis for drawing up the terms of reference and the further development and implementation of the system.
