The Tretiakov State Gallery
Everyone remembers the "Serov queue" - expression that appeared in the winter of 2016 and subsequently became a meme. The incredible interest of visitors in the exhibition held at the Tretyakov Gallery led to huge lines for tickets, while online tickets began were available biweekly.
The purpose of the project
The Gallery needed to prepare for the opening of new exhibitions so that the online sales system could work stably even for very popular events, when the number of active users reaches 30,000. Resources were not designed for such a load, and there was no way to quickly increase them. It was necessary to find a solution to optimize the system.
CustomerArt museum in Moscow, founded in 1856 by merchant Pavel Tretyakov. The world's largest collection of Russian painting, graphics and sculpture. Currently, the gallery has more than 180 thousand exhibits - it is one of the largest collections of Russian fine art in the world.
To cope with the situation and identify bottlenecks, it was decided to conduct several iterations of load testing. Our specialists got involved in the project: they developed load testing scripts, helped identify problems with the site and the payment system. Each new iteration of testing gradually increased the permissible load.
As a result of the project, the Tretyakov Gallery's online sales system was optimized, making it possible to successfully hold such high-profile exhibitions as Roma Aeterna. Masterpieces of the Pinacotheca at the Vatican, The Thaw and others. The reliability of the online sales system has made it possible to sustain up to 50,000 active users, which significantly exceeds the ticket quota for the exhibition
